MÖBIUS TWIST

This is a technique that allows you to work on both sides of the double crochet by forming both front and back loops on both the top and the bottom of the chain, and can be stretched more easily than a normal chain

1.

Ch3; yo, insert hook into 3rd ch from hook, yo, pull through ch.

2.

Yo, pull through 1st loop on hook (making a ch); yo, pull through next 2 loops on hook, yo, pull through last 2 loops on hook (making a dc).

3.

Yo, insert hook into ch1 at base of previous fdc; yo, pull through ch.

4.

Yo, pull through 1st loop (making a ch); yo, pull through next 2 loops on hook, yo, pull through last 2 loops on hook (making a dc); repeat until the desired fdc chain length is obtained.

Joining in for a Möbius twist

1.

Bring in both ends of your foundation dc chain; add one twist so that the start of your chain is upside down.

2.

Join both ends with a sl st into both bottom loops (which are now the top loops) of the first dc; sc in next st, hdc in next st, dc in next st and in each st around.

When you've reached the seam once more, dc into top of starting ch 3; this will create a little gap between the rounds which can be closed afterwards using the starting yarn tail. Continue to dc in each st around
